I question 9, it says a host connected sw3 wants to route outside its subnet, then refers to the switch making a routing decision based on what its ip default-gateway is. This doesn’t seem correct, as the switch does not perform routing, so its “ip default gateway” value would be irrelevant. If the question was regarding traffic sourced from the vlan interface of the switch, then i could see how that the switch’s ip default gateway would be relevant. The scenario and answer don’t align…

Q7. The question specifically stated that the new switch SwX would be connected to port fa0/16, which was supposedly only an access port, because it was only connected to Vlan1. For that matter, SwX would not participate in the trunking process, and so would not change the vlan configuration. Any take from 9tut or anyone out there>

Q9 Any Packet whose destination is not on the switch will be flooded on all other ports on the same vlan as the packet, but not on the default gateway of the switch. A packet received on a port attached to vlan 3 will only be flooded to ports on vlan3, but not on vlan1; any such packet whose address is not on the switch mac address table would be sent to the default gateway for vlan3, not vlana. Assuming vlan1 is the admin vlan, then an admin packet whose address is not in the mac table would be sent to the gateway for vlan1. Can 9tut clarify this, please?

Router Vlan-R1 ist directly connected to my Switch Sw-Ac3. So I can type on Switch Sw-Ac3 “show cdp neighbors” and the given output tells me that the name (plattform) of Vlan-R1 we are looking for is 2600 and not 2620 given in your answer.

You can’t setup default gateway 192.168.33.253 on 192.168.1.0/24, 192.168.22.0/24 or 192.168.44.0/24 network anyway. The default gateway for a host has to be in the same subnet network as the host.
Even the hosts in the same network (192.168.33.0/24) should use VLAN-R1 (192.168.33.254) as a default gateway to be able to communicate with other vlans.

The host will send it to it’s default gateway which will be the interface of the router to which the switch is connected. Incase the switch is a layer 3 switch, then it will do the required routing.

i think the explanation of last question is not correct. because first the host will check its default gateway since the 190.0.2.5 is not in its subnet. so if know the default gateway of host , then we can use “show cdp neigh detai” to know wich sw interface is connected to this gateway, then using “show mac-add” to pick up the exact mac-address of gateway interaface.. what do you think? thanks 9tut for great job
