Question

You have been hired by Specialty Hardware Incorporated to document the layout of the network. Complete the following tasks: Complete the network topology shown in the graphic by dragging the labels below with the appropriate router types, interface types, and IP addresses to the graphic . Find the information you need by using the router console attached to the R-CENTER router.

ccna_configuration_topology

ccna_configuration_topology_2

Answer and explanation

Note: You can download this sim to practice here: http://www.9tut.com/download/9tut.com_CCNA_drag_and_drop_sim_question.pkt

This is the simplest lab question in four labs you see in the real CCNA exam. First we should identify the types of these routers by using the show cdp neighbors command:

ccna_configuration_show_cdp_neighbors

There are 3 columns we should pay more attention to:

+ Local Interface: the interface on the device you are using “show cdp neighbors” command. In this case it is the interface of R-CENTER router

+ Platform: the platform of neighbor device

+ Port ID: the neighbor device’s port or interface on which the CDP packets are multicast

From the exhibit, the “Local Interface”, “Platform” and “Port ID” columns, we can identify where these four routers should be placed and their corresponding associated ports

ccna_configuration_topology_answers_1

Finally, use the show running-config command to find out the ip addresses of four interfaces on R-CENTER

ccna_configuration_show_run

And we can easily assign corresponding ip addresses to four neighbor routers, which are on the same network with R-CENTER router’s interfaces

ccna_configuration_topology_answers_2

Please remember in the real CCNA Exam the routers’ types, ip addresses and interfaces may be different! So make sure you understand how it works.

    hi everyone!
    Which statement is correct regarding the operation of DHCP?

    a. If an address conflict is detected, the address is removed from the pool and an administrator must resolve the conflict.
    b. If an address conflict is detected, the address is removed from the pool for an amount of time configurable by the administrator.

    Which one is true??? At 9tut the answer is a , at Brar the answer is b. I am not sure what is right!!!

    Hi fellow CCNA colleagues!
    Please beware to have the fully ICND1 and ICND2 information before taking the exam!
    I studied all the tutorials from famous Jeremy Cioara many times (CBT Nuggets http://www.cbtnuggets.com/it-training-videos/it-nuggets-library/series/cisco-ccent-icnd1-640-822) and 640-802, in which he claims to be prepared for the exam. Well….let’s put it that way, Jeremy is a very enthousiastic guy, but I can tell from my own experience, to have failed both my CCNA as well as CCENT, due to a lack of info. :-(

    Currently I’m studying the official Cisco CCNA/CCENT exam from Auditor Dale Liu. This book is filled with exercises, real-world examples, questions and answers incl. DVD with 2 full practice exams to prepare for D-Day.
    I mention this, that you are well prepared and not going for a 3rd attempt like myself.

    @D&
    You relied solely on those CBT Nuggets videos. Obviously that’s not going to get you anywhere near the pass marks. They are used to refresh and drill the concepts into your mind. I found it useful to watch those videos after I have read through all the material. Hope you’re 3rd attempt is a better one.

    If you are CCNP, why do you need to take CCNA? You automatically renew your CCNA when you sit your CCNP tests.

    cheap nike shox on August 13, 2012 Thanks for expressing your ideas lisetd here. The other thing is that each time a problem arises with a computer motherboard, persons should not go ahead and take risk connected with repairing that themselves for if it is not done properly it can lead to irreparable damage to all the laptop. In most cases, it is safe to approach your dealer of that laptop with the repair of its motherboard. They’ve already technicians who have an experience in dealing with mobile computer motherboard challenges and can carry out the right prognosis and carry out repairs.

    @password

    Password for all connected routers is noway

    To know the password. DoubleClick on the router then goto the config tab then export the startup config.There we can find the password under line console in clear text format since it is not encrypted.

    On the second part just use #show cdp neighbor detail, that way you don’t need to deduce anything…the addresses will be there.
